An Important Message to Studio Owners

Let’s work together to create a wonderful time for your Studio, Students and Parents for your Regional Competition, Convention and National Event this summer.
REGISTRATION SUMMARY: is your most valuable button/tool in your registration portal as it list all your entries with details (song names, ages, style of dance , student name, choreographer name. You must check this frequently to make sure make sure you have it accurate as 3 months prior to your competition, we are setting the outline of the schedule. You will want all your Routines correctly listed in the portal so we can give you the proper amount of performance time and space you need. You will not be able to change the info after the program book is finalized on our end as it would cause all the other students to have a time change. Having the correct information in your Registration Portal is Crucial.
SAVE YOUR SPOT EARLY: Enter online Early so we can save you all the spots you need. With inflation and less venues booking, our dates will sell out early. Don’t wait to enter or edit your entries. Do it as soon as you decide you want to come.
Student Names: In many shows, we are printing the student’s names on t-shirts, and sweatshirts. Regardless if students purchase an item, they want to see their name spelled correctly. Please go over your Registration Summary at least 30-90 days prior to make sure Student’s Names are spelled correctly.
Proof Read: Proofread and share your Registration Summary to your team ASAP so they can verify the student’s name spelling.
Entry Fee Prices are not listed in your Registration Summary. You must email in, call in or check your online invoice to see entry fee prices. Don’t hesitate to email carol@stepup2dance.com or call me at 781 231-0211 anytime.

2026-2027 helpful Info for you and your team.

PRINT ROUTINES BUTTON: Is your most valuable Tool. Every time you Add/Delete or Edit, your routines are Updated and automatically printed in your Registration Summary and added to final Program Schedule. Print Your Routines Button is what you need to send to your students parents to proofread 2-3 weeks before the final schedule goes out to all the studios. A parent will catch wrong age, wrong style of dance, wrong name of song, all of which you need to edit immediately before the final program book is finished and sent out.
STUDENT NAMES: Make sure the student is listed in your dancer list with Correct Spelling of Name and Birthdate. All duplicate names must be deleted and wrong birthdates must be removed.
STUDIO OWNERS: as Educators + Role Models in the community you are responsible for all + any work submitted by your Studio. Subject Matter, Song Choice and Choreography must be appropriate for all performers and for general audience attendees, very young children thru senior adults. In addition you are responsible for chaperoning and supervising your entire team to make sure they abide by every Rule of the Venue for the entire time they are at the Venue.
UNFINISHED ROUTINES: If you import routines from another competition your routines will be Unfinished. Unfinished Routines are blocked from the Program Schedule until Finished and Saved.
Ability
Often times a school will have a variety of levels in a group. Choose the one that you feel is most appropriate & comfortable for your dancers.
A competition can not know for sure how many hours, years a student has danced. Studio Directors are left to their own discretion and judgment to choose the ability level that makes the most sense. Go by the majority of students in the act and move up if in doubt.
Novice: Studied 2 years or less, &/or spends no more than 2 hours per week studying any form of dance or acro/gym.
Competitive: Studied from 2 to 7 yrs.
This is the level to choose if dancers are beyond new, novice, beginner dancers.
Advanced: Studied any type of dance or any combination of dance/gym/theatre for more than 7 yrs.
This level is higher than competitive yet lower than pro-am.
Pro-Am: Combination of amateur and professional dancers. Eligible for scholarships, cash at regionals/nationals, if there are 10 or more entries in the same category. A professional dancer is classified in our student’s dance competition as a teacher or teacher’s assistant, who is 18 yrs or older, who is paid or unpaid, who may have choreographed and or taught any students at any time. It is up to the discretion of the Show Director & Judging Staff to determine who may be placed or moved to pro-am at any time. One professional makes the entire routine Pro-Am.
