TEACHERS : Important Rules
PARENTS: Review Parent Info Page Click Here
Registration: Studio Owners once you submit a routine, you are included in the program regardless. You are responsible to pay for Entry Fees and adding up the routines you entered. Holding your spot will have caused another studio to loose a spot. You may edit entries but you are responsible for entering the amount of entries and monies that you initially put into the system. If you entered $5,000 worth of entries in the book, that’s what you are obligated to bring to the competition because that is the rental space and time we bought and held for you instead of other studios and dance students that may have wished to Attend.
Studio Dashboard: Dashboard, aka Home Page, is where your Invoice, competition materials, scores, and critiques are found.
Make Changes: If you make any changes to your complete registration will now be incomplete. You must checkout again in order for that change to be saved into the schedule, regardless of the amount owning being $0.00. Just proceed to check out, so the change is saved.
Payment by Check: Studios paying with a check will still need to checkout. There will be a box at the checkout where studios can indicate that they will be paying by check, whether it is a full payment or a partial payment. Again, if you make changes after submitting making payment, click the check-out button again. You may opt to pay by credit card or mail-in check again. Keep in mind the early deadlines. 60 days for Music, 30 Days entry fee.
Update Studio Information: Studios can update your email address and other studio information in My Account on the Studio Registration Site.
Often times a school will have a variety of levels in a group. Simply choose the one that you feel is most appropriate & comfortable for your dancers.
A competition can not know for sure how many hours, years a student has danced. Studio Directors are left to their own discretion and judgment to choose the ability level that makes the most sense. Go by the majority of students in the act and move up if in doubt.
Novice: Studied 2 years or less, &/or spends no more than 2 hours per week studying any form of dance or acro/gym.
Competitive: Studied from 2 to 7 yrs.
This is the level to choose if dancers are beyond new, novice, beginner dancers.
Advanced: Studied any type of dance or any combination of dance/gym/theatre for more than 7 yrs.
This level is higher than competitive yet lower than pro-am.
Pro-Am: Combination of amateur and professional dancers. Eligible for scholarships, cash at regionals/nationals, if there are 10 or more entries in the same category. A professional dancer is classified in our student’s dance competition as a teacher or teacher’s assistant, who is 18 yrs or older, who is paid or unpaid, who may have choreographed and or taught any students at any time. It is up to the discretion of the Show Director & Judging Staff to determine who may be placed or moved to pro-am at any time. One professional makes the entire routine Pro-Am.
*NOTE No competition can know for sure how many hours, or how many years a student has danced, Studio Directors are left to their own discretion and sound judgment when entering routines to choose the ability level that makes the most sense. Go by the majority of students in the act ad move up if in doubt.
Adjudication Placement: Trophies are awarded to Every Act. There are winners in every genre, age & ability adjudication placement. Overall Solos: Sashes awarded to Top Overall Score in age divisions. Tiara’s awarded to Top Overall Highest Score Solos in age divisions. (If more than 3) Overall Groups: Scholarship Awards go to the Top Overall Score s in Duo/Trios, Groups, Lines, Classes, and Productions. Top scores groups are by age groups if enough entries warrant. TOP SCORES are not divided down further to ability level as ability level can never be verified, as a birth certificate can.
Is provided to the registered email address of the Dance Studio. This is emailed to the registered studio the morning after the competition, along with studio scores and judges critiques.
Age is determined by the age the dancer is on the date of competition. The group age is determined by the average age of the group members. Studio owners must take care to enter the correct birth date into the online system. (Director may further separate or combine age divisions/categories according to the number of performers)
